Painted Bride Art Center
For over 35 years the Painted Bride has enjoyed a well deserved reputation as one of the country’s premiere and intimate performing and visual arts centers. The Bride has taken on the challenge of bringing the finest in contemporary jazz, theater, dance, world music and visual art to its stage and gallery. The Bride’s success has been rooted in the ability to take risks and to create intimate, accessible experiences that transform, inspire, and exhilarate both artists and audiences alike. It has remained a successful part of the Philadelphia arts and culture scene by continually delivering great performances by innovative talents and reflecting on and truly learning from those performances. BRAVO Team Building brings this to you.
Why Team Building at the Painted Bride Arts Center
The Painted Bride is a truly unique institution, from its “skin of the bride” shell to its inner workings and mission. What makes us unique though is not so different from what makes great teams great:
* Taking Risks: We have served as an incubator for new art and performance for over 36 years. We’ve never been afraid to be challenging, to take risks, or be provocative. Let us help your team become an incubator for creative new ideas and growth!
* Making an Impact: The Bride values the social and political impact of art - of having a voice, expressing ourselves in ways that matter, and being open to different voices. Our work is about personal empowerment. You have a diversity of backgrounds and talents in this team and across your organization. As you find ways to give your people and their talent’s voice, you will have organizational and social impact.
* Openness to Outside Ideas: we don’t have to be self-generating - we are flexible, valuing where people are coming from vs. trying to change them. A great team must do the same. The research shows that high performing teams utilize their diversity whereas low performing teams stumble over diversity. Middle of the road teams and institutions are less diverse and have less potential for greatness.
* Substance and Safety: At the Bride, we don’t always go for the WOW factor of pure entertainment. We are more thought provoking, creating a safe place for dialogue. For you, it is not always first to market and fancy marketing, but an underlying quality that delivers customer loyalty.
* Doing More with Less: As an arts organization, we must have the ability to do an enormous amount with very limited resources. Business has been reciting the mantra to do more with less for years and from what I hear, that is getting more and not less intense.
