Live From the Painted Bride,“Marooned”/“Aislado” is performed by a 19 piece big band ensemble. The CD is a live performance recorded during the Papo Vázquez performance at the Painted Bride on March 17, 2007. Papo Vázquez fuses the African and Puerto Rican styles of Bomba and Plena with traditional big band and Latin jazz. This sound is created by one of the finest Puerto Rican musicians of this era, and by his personnel, who know the process of creating, blending, and fusing music into a rich texture that grabs the listener with its pulsating rhythms.
