DJ King Britt and Rucyl Mills invite today’s most innovative artists to stretch the boundaries of genre, rhythm, and concept in musical conversation.  Saturn Never Sleeps combines audio/visual micro-components into a thought altering world of sight and sound.  Live musicians of acoustic and electronic inventions are curated as objects of art, coming together to create a multidimensional environment for the modern audiophile.

Thursday, January 14th Artists:

King Britt started his career in 1990 on the now legendary house label Strictly Rhythm as E-Culture; was Silkworm in the groundbreaking, Grammy winning, Digable Planets; started Ovum Recordings with Josh Wink; produced platinum remixes for Macy Gray, Solange, Donna Lewis and hundreds of others, and in 2007 was the first DJ/Producer to win the prestigious The Pew Fellowship.

Rucyl Mills is a multimedia artist, producer, and singer who experiments with sound, production and visual stimulus. In 2008 she built the Chakakhantroller, a wearable midi controller, and continues to play scientist with new formats of musical and electronic expression. She was an original member of the Goats, an alternative hip hop group (Ruffhouse/Columbia Records) in the 90s and she recently graduated from the Interactive Telecommunications Graduate Program (ITP) at NYU.

vade designs and performs with his own realtime video software.  His work focuses on improvisation, realtime manipulation of video and moving images and synchronization of synesthetic devices.  He plays, bends, rips, tears, shreds, morphs, molds, blends and synthesizes pixels to form new visual experiences.  He is also a Researcher in Residence at Brooklyn Polytechnic University’s Integrated Digital Media program and an Adjunct Instructor at the Parson New School Design .

TOKiMONSTA uses her background classical piano training create vast textural soundscapes by utilizing live instruments, percussion, digital manipulation, and dusty vinyl.  Through the creation of beats, she is able to fuse the sounds of the past with current music sensibilities into something advanced, all while preserving old school vibes.

BEN NEILL is a composer, performer, producer, and inventor of the mutantrumpet, a hybrid electro-acoustic instrument. Neill’s music blends electronica, jazz and ambient, blurring the lines between DJ culture and acoustic instrument performance.
