Second Saturday Collaborative Poetry 11/14/2009

By laneshe - 11/17/2009

Our Second Saturday attendees created this collaborative poem, each person having only the line before theirs to inspire:

I treaded lightly into her soul

But could seek no refuge in her heart

Because it was already full

Of lovey dovey yum yum

Smiling flowers glisten in the May sun

Work, work, work, blah, blah, blah, let’s have some fun!

Fun is what it’s all about - ain’t no doubt!

Ain’t nothin’ but a G thang baby!

But it was too late; the exquisite corpse drank all the new wine

Each drop of wine more morose than the last it peeled at his innards

The rain over our heads weighing us down

Forcing us to kiss the ground

God is great, life is beautiful, love is awesome

The lord smiles at me

Raining tears, cleansing pain with droplets of salvation

They’re sort of sweet, but not enough to satisfy

How much sweetness causes satisfaction?

The words died on the page

We know ourselves once we know the squirrels,

By the way, don’t step on a squirrel cause they are vulnerable

Squirrels have rabies

Ducks have scabies
