Siempre Salsa Philly Pioneer Awards Party

The Siempre Philly Pioneer Awards will be honoring legends in Philadelphia Latin music – Mino Cruz (La Opinion), Victor Aday (La Paz) and Elba “Candy” Dormoi (Panama y su Ritmo Caliente).

Bombay Rickey

Praised as “a true treat for the adventurous ear” (TimeOut NY), Bombay Rickey is a five-piece band with a unique sound evocative of 1960s movie soundscapes. The group plays both covers and original music that borrow equally from the worlds of surf rock, cumbia, spaghetti-Western, and Bollywood, balanced out with soaring operatic vocals.

Suzanne Ciani

Known as the “Diva of the Diode,” Suzanne Ciani is a composer, five-time Grammy-nominated recording artist, and pioneer in the field of electronic music and sound design.

Dave Douglas Dada People

In the years between the two World Wars, the Dada movement questioned, altered, teased and undermined the very idea of art. A century later, trumpeter Dave Douglas and pianist Frank Woeste draw inspiration from that “art of reinvention” with their collaborative album Dada People. Co-presented with Ars Nova Workshop.


This acclaimed jazz singer-songwriter straddles the worlds of soul, and pop, and musical traditions from Rwanda and Uganda.


This is a raging live beast of a band featuring: a bassist, drummer, percussionist, two emcees, two guitarists, and occasional appearances from a horn section, other emcees, and singers.

This fundraiser will feature a magical, whimsical, mischievous evening with a feast, open bar and cocktails, auction, raffle, and dancing to the earth shaking rhythms of PhillyBloco.
