Thundering Taiko percussion and visually stunning folk movements balance in unison as Tamagawa, nearly 30-piece troupe from Japan return to the Bride’s this Spring.
Rooted in ancient Japanese tradition, Tamagawa’s high-energy performances have garnered competitive awards in Japan as well as rave reviews in the states. Tamagawa’s nearly thirty drummers and dancers from Tamagawa University take the stage in a visual and audio spectacle to light up audiences of all ages. One of Japan’s top performing arts schools and their Taiko group is ranked among the top three in the world, the group is led by a great Kabuki-dance master, Isaburoh Hanayagi.
Having toured extensively in East Coast since 2003, Tamagawa preformed at the Kennedy Center, the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington DC., the Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival of Greater Philadelphia, and the NBA Half-time show at the Wachovia Center. The Bride has offered an intimate setting for Tamagawa performers to engage audiences since 2006, growing in popularity each year.
