Just in time for the perfect Valentine’s Day date, The Cookers will perform pieces from their latest release, Believe, which summons up an aggressive mid ’60s spirit with a potent collection of expansive post-bop originals marked by all the requisite killer instincts and pyrotechnic playing expected of some of the heaviest hitters on the scene today. The Cookers also pay respect to those who inspired them, including the late, great trumpeter Freddie Hubbard; their group name comes from from Hubbard’s 1965 Blue Note album The Night of the Cookers: Live at Club La Marchal.
