Danny Simmons presents the Philadelphia debut of his latest volume of poetry and artwork The Return of Two Dick Willie in a unique evening of music, poetry, and visual art. Simmons combines his abstract expressionist collages with the colourful saga of Two Dick Willie. Visually stunning and intellectually stimulating, this book captures Simmons’s skill at its finest. The New York Times says that Simmons “injects freshness” into his abstracts, and that they are “meticulously rendered and decoratively impressive.”
For this special performance, Simmons is joined by Philadelphia legendary poet Ursula Rucker along, singer Lezlie Harrison, drummer Eric Frazier, and bassist Dylan Taylor. Presented alongside the two story gallery exhibit of Simmons’ work, ’92 to Now, this evening of performances promises to be unforgettable.
