Alpha Phi Alpha (ΑΦΑ) is the first Black, Inter-Collegiate Greek-Lettered fraternity. It was founded on December 4, 1906 at Cornell University, in Ithaca, New York.  Some of the most influential and famous African-American history makers are Alpha men, including W.E.B. DuBois, Thurgood Marshall, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. – just to name a few.

The Omicron Delta Lambda (ODL) Philadelphia Alumni Chapter carries out the mission of the fraternity locally with programs such as the Arms of Alpha Thanksgiving Clothing & Food Drive, Scholarship Saturdays tutoring for elementary school students, and Project Alpha sexual health awareness seminars for teenagers, among many others.
