Essential oils is a hot topic! We have listened to the community, you asked for it and now its here – Special Edition: Yogetree + Aromatherapy! Come learn ways to incorporate essential oils in your personal quest to a healthier lifestyle – How to use them for balance and mental clarity, digestion, relaxation, focus, and overall well-being. You can do more with essential oils than just burning them at home. And what’s more you’ll be able to experience these oils throughout a beautiful flow of yoga, meditation, and writing… the classic Yogetree experience.

New to Yogetree? Well, don’t be shy! Come and explore the awesomeness created by combining yoga, creative writing, meditation and community! Plus we have a few other surprises up our sleeve! 😉 Yogetree is a self-care safe haven created by internationally certified yogini Hello Helanah! Yogetree happens monthly in Philadelphia aiming to bridge the gap between accessibility and affordability in the health and wellness space. We love seeing new faces and encourage curiosity and adventure in our Yogetree workshop experience! We are excited to partner with the Painted Bride to offer this experience here!

Not your average “workshop,” Yogetree calls all artists, aspiring yogis, writers, yoga teachers, students, dancers, singers, educators, business people…you get the gist…all are welcome to come and connect with like-minded folks in a new and innovative way! This workshop will stretch your imagination and body as you delve into the world of language and poetry while experiencing the many aspects of yoga, meditation, and movement. No matter what level your art form or yoga practice, this workshop will welcome you with open arms as we explore self expression, mindfulness, and aromatherapy with body and word.

Expect to leave a lil’ sweaty, with new inspiration, and new tools to use in your daily self-care practice! What to bring: Yourself in comfy clothes, your water bottle, journal, and yoga mat. *We do have a few yoga mats available for use during the workshop if you need one*

Please note: This workshop will begin promptly at 10am and runs until 1pm. We will have breaks throughout. Doors open at 9:30am and we encourage you to arrive early, as you will need to place down your yoga mat to claim your space. Tickets will be available at the door, prices subject to increase closer to workshop date.

 

FACILITATOR BIOS:

Helanah is a Licensed Massage Therapist and Corporate Wellness Educator by day, Yoga Instructor and Plant-based Chef by night. She is known for her down-to-earth approach to work-life-balance and her amazing vegan chocolate chip cookies. She is a certified Holistic Health Consultant and founder/creator of the live event Yogetree experience: a self-care safe haven where people of all backgrounds come together to nourish their mind-body-spirit. She identifies as a black vegan, healing artist, wearer of Vibram, wellness specialist, self care advocate and Survivor. Formally an international linguist at a prominent NY-based private equity firm, she finds her peace of mind among the youth and a piece of home where ever she goes.

She will never tire when talking about traveling as a black woman and Netflix’s Chef’s Table. Working with Helanah is invigorating, friends say her laugh has an identity of it’s own.

Greg Corbin in an international poet, educator, writer, hip hop artist and community activist and the Founder/Executive Director of the world-renowned Philly Youth Poetry Movement. Sharing stages the likes of with India Arie, Mos Def, Nikki Giovanni, many other artists, Greg has performed and taught across the U.S., and internationally in South Africa, England and France. Greg is a socially and politically engaged artist passionate about topics including spirituality, education, love, bullying, restorative justice and health. In this workshop he will be sharing his words of wisdom throughout the creative writing components. He frequently conducts writing, reflection and spoken word workshops for professional development and residencies in schools.

This event is part of Painted Bride Art Center’s Community Table program. Led by Philadelphia’s most dynamic makers, thinkers, and doers, Community Table is an open series where good ideas become realities. All are invited to share their musings, interests, and talents. Community Table is free or low cost event, designed primarily to promote creative fellowship and collaboration.
