Desmond “Rockdaspot” West

Desmond “Rockdaspot” is a Philadelphia-based DJ known for his soulful, genre-blending style and global reach. His DJ journey began in 2005, sparked by a desire to curate music that was both heartfelt and rhythmically rich. Committed to his craft, he commuted six weekends in a row to study at NYC’s DJ Scratch Academy, sharpening his vinyl blending skills and deepening his love for the artform. Rocdaspot’s first major club gig was at the legendary Arts Garage, where he had the honor of opening for Questlove of The Roots.

Raised in a bi-cultural African American and Puerto Rican community in North Philly, Rocdaspot’s broad musical palette reflects deep familial and neighborhood influences. Known for his sharp wit and altruistic spirit, he’s taken his signature sound around the world—from Cartagena to Switzerland to Italy. Whether at home or abroad, his mission remains clear: to deliver real music and healing vibrations to true music lovers.
