Birdie Busch
Birdie Busch is an award winning sonic and visual artist who has exhibited and performed her original work at renowned cultural institutions around Philadelphia and beyond. Her music has appeared in film and television and been put out through adventurous independents like Bar None Records and Styles Upon Styles. She has taught creative workshops centered around sparking core memories for artistic expression at Fleisher Art Memorial, The Kelly Writers House, and University of the Arts. She strives to distill the complexities of our stories down to core truths via the paths of folk art and song. She has a particular fondness for everyday Philadelphians and the neighborhoods they call home and values joining other impassioned collaborators that seek to make inspired work for the greater good. She first collaborated with The Painted Bride through the recent Resistance Garden Project, making art inspired by Philly Forests, an urban ecological program that works within the realms of farming and reforestation of Philadelphia neighborhoods with the lowest tree canopy.
