Lori Waselchuk
Lori Waselchuk is a photographer, filmmaker, curator, and socially engaged artist whose practice is rooted in community and in the possibilities, tensions, and challenges of working collectively toward a shared purpose. She is the recipient of the Leeway Foundation’s Media Artist & Activist Residency and Transformation Award, a Velocity Fund Grant, a Pew Fellowship for the Arts, the Aaron Siskind Foundation’s Individual Photographer Award, and the Southern African Gender and Media Award. Her projects have been exhibited internationally, and her work is widely published in books and periodicals. Lori is currently an artist-in-residence at the Writers Room and serves as director and producer of the forthcoming film series Abolition Conversations.
