Painted Bride presents Gabardine by David A. Gaines, a work-in-process on inner child healing. This experimental poetry show utilizes film projection, immersive sound, and various technologies to subvert audience expectations and explore dimensions of Black grief, shame, and joy. Witnesses will be challenged to question their gaze and reimagine possibilities for themselves and our world. Main collaborators are Brooke O’Harra (Director), Ugly Arts Films (Production Company), and The Painted Bride Art Center (Presenter).
