Voices of 52nd Street, Then & Now: Memory Garden/Gathering Table

This all-day Juneteenth celebration in Malcolm X Memorial Park—rooted in memory and resistance—features the unveiling of the Memory Bench and Gathering Table, along with musical performances and cultural tributes.

The Memory Garden/Gathering Table will be a space for community to gather, to remember history, fostering community through art, storytelling and well being. The space will be created to exist as a living art installation in Malcolm X Park and feature the historic and contemporary names of people, places and monuments that prompt memory, conversation and community building.
