The Lunch Beat Experience

I will admit, #lunchbeatphilly is kind of weird, kind of strange, but definitely fun. A bunch of random people leave work at lunch time and come to the Bride. This spontaneous thing happens: they get on the dance floor with each other, usually in a circle, and dance. Strangers. Dancing in their work clothes in the middle of the day, in the middle of the week, it’s pretty cool. Afterwards, they go back to work a little sweaty, but having had a great time of the sorts you don’t usually have in the middle of the work day.

We are so excited that Siobhan, our Audience Services and Rentals Manager brought us the idea, framed after the lunchtime disco craze in Europe. Secretly, I think she just wanted to have an excuse to party in the middle of the day, in the middle of the work week – I don’t object. And she definitely gets down! I love Siobhan in dance mode:

The next Lunch Beat will we super special, as it’s on October 31st, Halloween! So it’s a Lunch Beat Halloween/Costume Party Edition! Costumes are encouraged, but not required 🙂
