What genres of art do you enjoy? I enjoy all forms of art, but I would say that my favorites are music and spoken word.
How long have you been a part of the Bride community? Well, that depends upon what you consider the starting point of the “Bride Community”. I have been a fairly regular visitor since the Bride was in an old bridal shop on South Street – that would probably be 1978 or so, So what’s that – 34 – 35 years or so?
Share with us your first experience at the Bride, or your favorite Bride story. My first experience with the Bride was seeing Bill Lewis and the US Contemporary Music Society. Bill would play in his group along with fellow Philadelphians Khan Jamal and Byard Lancaster. I really enjoyed the Roger Guenveur Smith one man show of Huey P. Newton. I greatly enjoy our own Spoken Hand and Zakir Hussein and also John Hollenbeck’s groups.
What is your fantasy artist or project you’d like to see come to the Bride? – reuniting the Keith Jarrett American Quartet and European Quartet; I’d like to see Mike Daisey; I’d like to see Bobby Previte and Weather Clear, Track Fast; I’d like to see DJ Spooky.
Name five of your favorite artists. Keith Jarrett, DJ Spooky, DJ Krush, Bobby Previte, The Chicago Underground Duo
Name three favorite foods. These are some specific foods that when I see them on a menu its hard not to resist: calamari, Caesar Salad, Key Lime Pie
