Welcome to Communion
Headlong Studios (1170 S Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19146)
Friday, June 21 at 8pm
Saturday, June 22 at 8pm
An improvisational performance by Meg Foley, where you are guided through soft movement and feeling. Foley’s text embraces geological lineage and noticing with our senses.
Communion examines the space between body and language, demonstrating how language extends, represents, and ruptures our corporeal identities. (60 min)
You’re encouraged to explore the hands-on gallery of Touch Library, in the same building, before your experience.
Part of Blood Baby, a queer and trans exploration of lineage, family, and how we are each individually formed from artist Meg Foley and the Painted Bride.
ACCESSIBILITY: Headlong has 4 steps to enter the building. Communion takes place indoors. Chairs without arms are available. Bathrooms are single stall, gender neutral and located down a narrow set of stairs that is not wheel chair accessible.
Major support for Blood Baby has been provided by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, with additional support from the National Performance Network and the New England Foundation for the Arts.
