Conjure: A Dance Party (Conjuring Joy)
Conjure: A Dance Party is the culminating celebration of our Conjuring Joy at the Bride residency. Join us and our four resident artists (Matthew Armstead, Cass Arrington, Francesca Montanile Lyons, Very Good Dance Theatre) as we create joy with one another through shared food and movement. We’ll begin by setting our collective intentions and boundaries, then move into a group dance jam, and end with a group reflection. Participants can participate at their own comfort level, with the option to skip the opening ritual.
Throughout the summer, our four residents have invited the West Philadelphia community into collaboration through workshops, performances, galleries, and community events. We’re excited to gather and conjure the essence of what they’ve been working on. To stand in our purpose. To step into joy. To move into community.
