Adult Movement Workshop (Gathering to Thrive)

Join us for an Afro-Fusion movement workshop with dancer Mawu Ama Ma’at Gora, on the art of dance as a practice of creativity and wellness. A catered lunch by That Pikliz Jawn will be provided. All experience levels encouraged. For adults only, Black and Brown folks centered. Part of Gathering to Thrive: A West Philly Radical Wellness Exchange.
Limited space available – pre-registration required.
From Mawu: Afro-Fusion incorporates West African dance from Guinea and Senegal. Incorporating somatic calisthenics to strengthen body alignment, explore rhythmic vocabularies and invite community into ways of being in movement collectively. Beginners are highly encouraged to participate, through repetition and culminating movement praxis we find a sense of self within our communal gathering.
